Defending Canada!

As much as I hate dragging topics on and on in the 3-D Digest, I must say I
felt a little put out by Mary Ann Sell's comments about a convention being
hosted in my fair country.

She writes:

Guess what happens to all the non-US citizens that attend US conventions,
such as Rochester? Whether it's Canada Customs or US Customs, problems will
always arise. The fact that their cars were loaded down with camera stuff
proves one of two things: Either there is lots of camera equipment to buy in
Canada at the right price, or there's so much to photograph up there that
they brought every lens and shutter with them to take advantage of it.
ANYONE crossing ANY national border should always make sure they understand
the difficulties that could arise in this situation, and BE PREPARED before
they leave their country. If you don't know the rules, check with your own
Customs agent. Both Photo 3-D as well as the NSA are not restricted to only
US citizens regarding their membership, so why should their conventions be
restricted by the US border? The Canadian dollar hurts right now, which is a
major advantage to anyone carrying US bucks. Victoria is so close to the US
that some people have even  SWAM there! And NO OTHER PLACE IN THE WORLD
matches the spectacular beauty and uniqueness of the Canadian Pacific Coast.
