You don't have to defend Canada...I'm all in favor of a Canadian convention
but can't defend the U.S. Customs agents who will ransack cars re-entering
U.S. boarders.
They have a tendency to feel that, even if the stuff was made, bought and
brought from the U.S. into Canada, it should not be allowed back in without
the driver paying a duty or worse!!!!
I don't know what it is that makes the U.S. government so greedy. However,
since EVERYONE I know and have talked to has had this problem, it would not
be easy to have a convention in the BEAUTIFUL B.C. area. (Of course it's
close and it would be just as easy to go there as Bellvue, WA.)
When we recently took a large lot of stuff from Rochester to John Saddy in
London, Ontario we were told when crossing into Canada by the Canadian
Customs Officer that "you will have a hard time getting that stuff back into
the U.S.". Luckily, we didn't have to!!!
