My fave spot meter is the gossen Ultra Spot. It has a built in zone
system scale and lets you take multiple readings and display them
together without taking the meter from your eye. If you choose the Zone
System mode, you can a shadow reading, place on Zone III or II 1/2, then
take up to 9 more readings and see where they fall. You then slide a
switch and it will expand or contract the range, noting the n+ or n-
development change needed.
Still a good spot meter for those who don't use the zone system. The
photocell is filtered to more closely match film response. Something to
consider if you want the control a spot meter.
I have an old pentax 1/21 as a back-up, needs some work (intermittent
short in wire in battery compartment). Email me if you're into a DIY
cheap spot meter, say $25.
