New Lasar-Based 3D Imaging System

While driving home from work tonight, I just barely caught an NPR report 
of a new and quite revolutionary-sounding lasar-based three dimensional 
imaging system. Didn't catch many details, but I believe it is a "single 
eye" system which was initially developed by a Berkley grad student with 
Pentagon money, and is now being developed privately as a means of 
high-level medical and technical imaging.
