Re: My VM story...
Thanks Jamie for the details on making this unique VM reel.
You did an excellent job with the stereo photography. The
choice of textiles to highlight the object is ingenious. The
lighting is great. This is so much better than the previous
"Chinese Art" work. This reel is not only for those who
appreciate the subject but for all of us who appreciate good
stereo photography.
How much is the reel selling for? I am sure that photo-3d
people, NSA members, VM collectors and stereo photographers
would like to add this unique reel to their collection of stereo
images. I would like extra copies myself. Please give us more
information on how we can order it.
Regarding your comment:
>It seems the general public still thinks of the VM as a
>childs toy instead being a unique and beneficial way to view three
>dimensional artifacts. People looking at the backlit viewer in the
>exhibit are quite thrilled by the experience, but they won't show
>their support by buying a reel.
I assume that the reel is sold along, i.e., without a viewer.
Perhaps you should offer it for sale with a viewer. Many
people (without kids!) would not know where to get the viewer.
As Bob Stern mentioned, VM reels make the best souvenir for
the money. In your case, this self-produced unique reel is
an even better bargain. Somehow you need to pass this point
to the general public... Now that the photography and production
are completed, here comes the hard part: selling it!
Congratulations again for a superb job!
