Well, since I posted the original message about this (using twin camera setup, one 
with B&W and one in color), and no one saw the same magazine article that I did (my 
first question now answered), I will answer the second question.
The lenses on the two cameras appear to be the same focal length.  So, what I saw is 
probably a true twin 35 rig, elect. synch'd with the same lenses, just not for stereo 
use.   So the only difference was the color and B&W.  So if the color image was 
printed in B&W one would in fact have a stereo pair.  There.....question answered.

But it sure was fun watching the discussion drift off to such proportions. :-)
