Projector Adjustments

I haven't posted to the list for a long while 'cause it seems that I'm always
so far behind reading the digests...

But anyway, the topic of projection adjustment interested me. Although I
thoroughly agree that projector adjustments should be avoided in the normal
3D program, it seems to me that in a club/competition type situation that
could be difficult to accomplish due to the variety of mounts used by
different members. Even if all of the slides are well mounted, the mounts
differ in center-to-center spacing. We have 5-perf, 7-perf, and RBT 5-perf
that have spacings like 7-perf. So, in addition to the focus problems that
different mount thicknesses cause (glass, no glass, cardboard, RBT plastic),
it seems that small horizontal adjustments would be needed to correct for the
mount spacing. Or is the 0.3mm difference not enough to worry about?

The best compromise I can think of would be to at least group mounts of a
similar type together. At least you wouldn't be adjusting all the time, like
often seems to occur at the Rocky Mountain Stereo Club.
