Thank you both very much for your rapid responses!  I passed this 
information to Bill Tribelhorn and he said he had tried Alex's method 
(unsuccessfully), but was heartened to hear of Patrick's method.  He 
called back in an hour or two to report success with this second 
method.  He still had not completed the job, but at least the cover was 
off.

This is what I find most valuable about this list; the enormous amount 
of knowledge and information so freely offered!  I also found this to 
be the case when I was restoring Bill Ewald's push-button stereo 
projector (now mine, as well as the green Kodaslide II and the stereo 
rangefinder - eat your hearts out!) He had some oddball lamps in it 
that turned out to be the same as those for the TDC Project-or-View, 
the bulb source for which had been mentioned in this list previously. A 
quick search of files turned the name up, and a quick call resulted in 
a timely shipment of bulbs.
