In looking at recurrent trends, one kind of interesting barometer as
to what is nostalgia is to observe the music compilations on sale on
late night tv. About 5 years ago the WWII/40's music collections started
tapering off and are virtually absent today. There was also quite a bit
of late 60's/early 70's stuff (remember "70's Preservation Society?") but
that is tapering off as well now. I remember being suprised the other
night at seeing late 70's/early 80's compilations starting to appear.
