There are discontinuities, however, because the population curve has
bulges in it, and that's where the marketing efforts are directed.
There was a definite post-WWII baby boom, and those people are now in
their 40's and 50's. There's also an echo boom, but it's a bit more
spread out, as baby boomers are all having children at different ages.
