V-M mass media?

V-M *was* in fact mass media in the 1950s, when you could buy reels and
packets at nearly every camera and hobby shop in the US. They were also
easily available mail-order. With Tyco-ization (and the merchandising
deals struck with K-Mart and Toys'r'Us), the reels are far less available
than they were then. IMO corporate greed exacts a price, and we're the
losers. It'd be interesting to see sales figures (adjusted for inflation)
from 1950 - 1996.
