SL3D - experiment

Based on the description of a Q-dos lens having a clear center stripe I
modified the mask in one of my anaglyphic lenses to this:

   (R) (C) (B) R=red, C=clear, B=blue

The theory being that the red-clear combination passes a red image taken
from the left side, and the blue-clear combination passes one from the
right side. Even though the two combinations overlap they still have
weighted centers that are horizontally separate and therefore two
images should be distinguishable when viewed.

Unfortunately - the result is three separate images that can't be fused.

Yet to be tried is something like this:

   (RRRRCBBBB)

which would connect the images. Of course it does that by opening
up the two stops horizontally until they connect which will probably
cause astigmatism in the picture - horizontal edges sharp, vertical
edges blurry.

The goal is to reduce the amount of colored vignetting caused by
off-center aperturing.

re: 3D for the masses. Liquid crystal could be used for shutters as
well as diaphrams. And if lq can make black, why not mirror? By angling
them you could introduce a beam-splitter, or other exotic light-path.
