Stereo New England MTG, 3-D Museums & More!

Stereo New England had their fall meeting Sunday....attended by over eighty
people.....a bit lower head count than the last two meetings which topped
100....with a glorious sunny day outside....after two weeks of clouds and
dampness,  I am sure many had cabin fever and hit the great
outdooors....hopefully with 3-D cameras in hand!

Our meeting was lively, hosted by Dick Koolish, moderated by the wonderful
Jumpin' Jim Mcdonough who lookd tan and rested from a summer on his
boat....go-on with your bad self Jim!!!  A trade show at the
opening....several dealers, and collectors had tables full of 3-D wares....to
sell....to trade.  The traditional 3-D auction and show and tell
followed....and then it was time for our program by Dale Walsh....who
presented his first NSA program in Rochester, so we invited him down to show
it in New England.  Dale and his friend Josee Nadon visited us from Montreal
and put on his wonderful show of Sacred Places Around The World.  Dale has
been to some reallly far-out places....with 3-D evidence in hand....shot with
Realist....and twin Nikon rigs. 

After Dale's ethereal program.....we had a potrourri of some of the best open
projection ever, club members were really out there shooting  this past
summer..... Janet Moyer's husband H (short for his real name in Japanese
which I won't dare try to spell) shot a wonderful summer series of images in
Alaska, the images were deliberately shot in Kodachrome, Janet said that
Alsaka's native colors are so rich in deep dark blue...that Ektachrome just
gets wiped out....very interesting. A great suprise was when Paul Wing
slipped me a batch of images he copied from the book 3-D Museum....and they
projected well....and stunned and suprised the audience who were not privvy
to the fact that the book exisited.  Last but not least...Cynthia Morton flew
in from Atlanta to join Dale, Josee, and the club, and of course brought some
great 3-D's of her own to show.

The day before the meeting Dale, Josee, a friend of mine Lourdes, and I
visited Ron Labbe at his new home.....a church that Ron and his wife Michelle
have converted to a living space.....and SPACE is the word here.  The place
might be called...."The Shrine to the Stereo Image".....or "The Temple of
Interocular Enlightenment", perhaps "The Altar of Infinite D-D-Depth"!!!!
  Maybe Ron will invite 3-D troubadors The Rolling Wheatstones, to play at
his grand opening.....or those fathomous rockers, the Dukes of
Depth....althopughj rumour has it....Ron plays with both groups, but he gigs
incognito under a pair of those shady polarized glasses!   In the main chapel
area upstairs.....Ron has the room to easily seat 200 people, place his big
10 x 14 sliver screen up over the podium -platform area, and we have not even
hit the balcony yet!!   Ron is finally in the major construction stages of
his dream to create a 3-D Museum....as the halls downstairs are lined with
cases of great VM and 3-D related items....we had a blast!
As I type this.....Cynthia Morton is bound for Hingham, to see Claire & Paul
Wing....and then farther southeast to Sandwhich on the Cape, to see
 Bracketteers Lorraine &Bob......where she will pick up her new Brackett
Dissolver and see how those magic machines are made....Cynthia will now see
3-D in a whole new way as many of us who have worked with the Dissolver
know....so look out for great 3-D programs from her in the future ....I have
seen a few others make this dual feature pilgrimage....and I assured Cynthia
that when she returns here tonight... ....an early dinner and rest will be in
line....as seeing Wings and Bracketts in one day is a fascinating, fun, and
dimensionally exhausting trip!
