There _IS_ such a thing as low quality results. Every photograph taken is
_NOT_ a work of art. And every 3D photo [I've] taken is _NOT a brilliant
masterpiece!
The 2D shots of the floor my 2yr old has taken is not [imho] a work of
art. In fact, I usually get those "bought back" by the lab that did the
developing. The same goes for my 3D shots. Not all of them are brilliant
masterpieces. In fact, I've had very few 3D shots I'd consider really
good or even great. Yet I still try from time to time.
As for "those that get technical...", I believe "picture taking" can be
broken down into two general catagories, those who take pictures for free
and those who take pictures for a profit. I _EXPECT_ a professional to
have and use any and all equipment necessary to capture the event he's
been hired for. I hope that the professional enjoys what he's doing but
it's not a prerequisite when I hire him.
I am _NOT_ a professional photographer and yet I enjoy going out on
personal photo shoots, both 2D and 3D to see what I can come up with.
And, I use a camera which requires more "technical" work than simply
pointing and shooting. I still like to choose different angles and see
what I can do with backlighting or stop action to get a desired effect or
result. And, I believe that the majority of members of this list also
strive to capture a desired effect in the 3D realm whether they use the
"weight shift" method of capturing a scene or take great pains to verify
lighting with light meters and set up tripods or arrange scenes or
whatever. And it's enjoyable for them.
Also, I appreciate the wide range of photo-3D expertise that is on this
list. The various discussions we've had have made me try all kinds of
different methods of 3D photography and I've enjoyed all of them so far
(still looking for a Realist!).
Keep up the good work gang,
Ron
