Please respond to this!
Six (6) digests ago, Dennis Sherwood asked these questions:
>As the manufacturer of EMDE stereomounts, I am really at a crossroads and
>would greatly appreciate P3D's input. How many of you use paper mounts,
>like the heal seal PIC mount, the Pego slip in, etc., and how many use
>the Albion aluminum mount? The RBT plastic mount? What
>advantages/disadvantages do each of these mounts have? What quantities
>do you use in a year? How important is price in your buying decision?
>Quality and precision of the mount? How often do you project your slides,
>or do you mostly use them in a hand held viewer? What do you want in a
>mount? This your chance to influence my product decisions, and you can
>reply directly to me if you want your response to be kept confidential.

Only two public responses have been recorded so far. Too low for a group
with many slide fanatics.
Dennis, don't be disappointed. This subject has been discussed in a
number of occassions in the past. I know because I personally
participated in these discussions. It is possible to search the old
digest and dig everything that was ever been written on the subject.
Check with Bob Weir on how to do the search. This path is one of
my most useful "bookmarks".
I am waiting to hear a few more opinions before I post my response.
I can only say that the EMDE 5-p mounts is the perfect system for
a beginner. The (properly cut) Realist-format chips fit right
in the frame. The window is adjusted automatically and can vary
by using the different mounts (Normal, Medium, Close-up, Ultra
Close-up). Nothing to think or worry about. Charles Piper also
recommends this system for beginners. It gives you clean edges,
perfect alignment and minimum worries. That's how I got started.
