Short answer, yeap!

Long answer, yes it is the poor quality of the prints that produced
the cut-outs. You would notice the same effect with a poorer quality
3D camera also. Which will go nameless, since it got enough coverage
last week. ;-) I am pretty sure you didn't use that one, since you
would have noticed the cut-out effect with it.
