You might even say that 3D is about to undergo a major resurgence
with the arrival and popularity of "virtual reality" systems. Disney
has even experimented with VR-based entertainment at it's theme parks,
and it will migrate down as technology becomes cheaper and more
accessible.
It may not be still photography, but the VR wave may buoy all areas of
3D imaging.
