VM Mark II double pulse

Someone inquired a few days ago about a possible fix for the VM Mark II
camera, which was pulsing the strobe flash twice - once correctly, and once
upon release of the shutter button.
If this was responded to, I didn't see the reply in the recent heavy
traffic on this list.

I think they all do that, and there is no fix. Of course, the camera was
designed for flashbulbs, so once the bulb was fired the circuit was broken
and the second pulse irrelevant.
How I deal with this is to have trained myself to quickly release the
shutter button as soon as the flash fires; the trick is to squeeze gently
and then release suddenly. Just takes a little practice. Usually the
strobe has not recharged enough to fire by using this method. Hope this
helps.
