Old timers?
>George Themelis>Let me clarify: I AM NOT AN OLD-TIMER!!!!
I have only been to this list for two years now and to 3D
photography for only 7 years. Even the founding fathers of
this list (John B. et al.) are not old-timers. The list is
a fresh as fresh can be. BoBH is an old-timer ;) and we
all love to hear his wisdom.
I eagerly await each digest (and, when bored, switch to
ACK) and have for nearly two years. Without this list I
would not have gotten involved in stereo-photography - I
was one of the many seduced into the third dimension by
SIRDS - but when I discovered that the "old timers" were
having fun with vintage stereo cameras, I had to get one -
and I'll never go back to SIRDS.
There is no substitute for this list for those of us out
past the fringes of civilization. Every day I learn
something, and although some of the material goes over my
head, or is not directly related to my personal interests -
I scan it all - ya never know where you'll find a nugget
amidst the rubble. Mostly I lurk, but now that I've been
here a while, and gotten a little experience, I've begun to
post more.
I understand the frustration of having to repeat basic
information for newbies, but each time a subject comes up
more people get involved, and those additional points of
view and additional ways of explaining concepts help even
those who have heard it all before. I know its helped me.
I'd like to offer Thanks and Kudos to all the old timers,
and especially to those who's hard work make this list
possible. This list may be the last, best hope to keep 3D
photography (in all its forms) a viable medium. --- THANKS
GANG! ---
