More on the Old-Timer problem

I suppose I need to clarify my statement just a bit. I am NOT recommending
that people limit their discussions to what I want to read. I'm a little
tired of skipping so many messages because there is nothing new for me, but
I realize that others are gaining knowledge from the material I no longer
need. Heck, I even skip messages that have new info, but are just not on
a topic that interests me (I'm not at all interested in the definition of
art, for instance - I figure it ends up being a judgement call in the end.)

However, I am extremely offended by Mr. Wageman's attitude that the list
exists for his benefit and his alone. If we have opinions that don't mirror
his, then apparently we must find ourselves subjected to flaming. If it
continues, I may switch from digest mode and put a filter on Mr. Wageman's
posts. What I would PREFER is for Mr. Wageman to address his concerns in
a more reserved manner, as I am sure that he occasionally has something
useful to offer.

Sorry to bug you all again - that's the last I'll say on this subject.

Jim

PS I am very thankful to everyone who took time to answer me when I was
the one asking all of the questions on recently covered topics! In general,
the folks on this list are superb folks, and everyone seems quite willing
to help newcomers.
