->Hi, the option two approach is what has been done by the RPS at their
->Bath UK HQ. I think it was done by David Burder, it was seeing the
->quality of these slides that got me interested in 3d, by raising my
->awareness that it was'nt 'just those awful red/blue things'
->
->At Bath there is a small display of about ten slides each with
->individual viewers, they are split into two groups of 5 each on a
->slow release light switch, the quality is very good, glass lenses etc.
->
->Maybe you could contact Mr Burder and find out who knows about the
->construction of this display, after a recent revisit I noticed that
->the pictures are changed quite frequently.

The display is owned and managed by the Stereoscopic Society. We have a
member in Bath who goes in to check the equipment and change the slides.
The RPS have virtually no interest in the display. It used to be sadly
neglected until we took full charge.
The viewers were made by Hugo de Weiss in the Netherlands. They have
wonderful (and expensive!) lenses. The bodies are fabricated from
stainless steel.
Currently, Bernard Makinson (our Chairman and a professional exhibition
display designer) is working on a new stereo display for the Museum of
Film & Photography in Bradford. Progress is slow, but we'll get there!
Bernard is not yet contactable by e-mail (I drag him onto the net "real
soon now"!), but I could pass on messages - he and his wife Sue (our
secretary) and I work very closely on many aspects of society activities.
