Subconscious 3d acts, 1-i-3-d, and the 4rth dimension

As in the recent posts, it was related that the brain makes us
subconciously act with our eyes in certian ways. Another way which
is not new to most people here, but might be to the masses, is increasing
their stereo base, which they do unconciously. An example of this is
when people are out in the wilderness, on some mountain range for
example, you'll notice that we all will sometimes transfer our weight
from foot to foot or side step to get a better idea of the distance
of the next mountian peak or scenery around us.
Similiarly one eye people can percieve depth this way as was discussed
in the one eyed thread. But the discussion there is, is it 3d stereo?
Strictly speaking, side stepping to determine distance with one or even two
eyes doesn't actually increase the stereo base. We are using parralax
movement, rather than disparity in judging the depth. To actually increase
the stereo base, one would have to use 2 periscope style viewers like in the
View-magic system, but with the 2 outside mirrors much further away (or use
a 3d camera). Such equipment actually exists to judge distances. My
curiousity is, can we
see 3d stereo with no eyes, as in dreaming.
Still the question in the other thread is can we see actualy see 3d stereo
with one eye and this is still a puzzle. In the above example with the
mountains, one does not see 3d stereo but it might be possible with
a lenticular print as was mentioned by Michael Kaplan. I tried it as
he suggested in his post but the 3d effect that I think I saw (I am not
sure yet) is greatly determined on the quality and size of the lenticular
print.
One final note, 3d is obviously the 3 coordinates x,y, and z in space.
The fourth dimension is time, then shouldn't 3d movies actually be
called 4d?
