As luck would have it I was at the Museum of Film & Photography in Bradford
yesterday. When my wife suggested a film and a meal for our wedding
aniversary she didn't realise I would drag her to see the IMAX (Is this
the only one in the UK at the moment ?).
Whilst there I tracked down the section on stereography in the "Kodak
history of Popular photography" section. It was frankly a bit of a disgrace.
There were a couple of unlit display cases in a very dim area, the
stereo cards in the displays were informally arranged in such a way that made
it impossible to free view, on one wall were the front of five viewers, with an
invitation to look through... and what did we see - nothing, whatever should
have been in there had been removed.
Further on in the display was a viewmaster viewer, it was set up so you
couldn't move to the next image and the image in there was vertically
misaligned so much that I couldn't fuse the image.
So as far as I'm concerned the sooner Bernard can get it set up the better.
Bearing all this in mind the Museum is definately worth a visit and the
IMAX was superb.
