When I first started to notice that my vision was getting a bit fuzzy,
I went to se my first eye doctor. He was perplexed about how bad my
vision appeared to be vs what I was actually able to read on his
charts. He mentioned that my eyes seemed inordinately strong, therefore
I was able to compensate for my problem far better than most. It turns
out that he estimates most people would have come to see him a year or
two earlier. I explained my love of 3D, and he immediately understood
the difference. This might sound like a good thing, but it isn't...
It turns out I have a degenerative disease called Karataconus (or
something like that) that could have been much more easily treated if
found earlier. So, I was able to see longer without help, but ended up
doing more damage because of it... I guess if I hadn't been a
free-viewing nut all these years, I would have better eyes now... Sigh!
