Sounds like a good idea, but you'd have to tell the camera the kind of 
film that's in it (more than ASA rating.... density curve dynamic range
sort of info) as well.

There is the "problem" of the user too.  Sounds like something for the 
"advanced user".  Someone who might understand the zone system (or what
it's for) but still not be too "traditional" to let the camera do it for him
or her.

Except for the film identity problem, sounds like "just" software for those
cameras with spot metering and a built-in flash.

Great idea!

Basically, "intelligent fill-flash".  "IFF".  "If you're smart you'll buy IFF!"
