Loreo test

Initial observations after using the Loreo: This is a neat little camera,
easy
to use as a "point & shoot" with fixed focus and fixed exposure combinations.
You can use either ISO 200 or 400 -- the latter being preferable for overcast

days, scenes with a large proportion of shade, or flash indoors to increase
the range of light. Most exposure faults can generally be compensated for
by a good photo lab.

The camera's main advantage is exposing the pair of images on a single
35mm frame, which makes it simple (and inexpensive) for any lab to print.
Its chief DISadvantage is the tendency for its many mirrors to pick up flare,
reflections, and ghost images. Instructions recommend that you have
the sun directly behind you -- and I can see why! (Don't say you weren't
warned!) With the camera is a small removable lens shade which clips
to the front glass by tiny suction feet, and which might help somewhat.
I did not use it for my first roll of film, but certainly will in future
tests
because many of the resulting prints had flares and reflections.

Reflections are also a problem when using the folding viewer sold as a
complete kit with the camera. 4x6 prints can be trimmed and inserted
into a Q Vu mount for viewing in an antique stereo viewer which has
the hood necessary to prevent distracting reflections -- as well as
allowing better focus without eyeglasses.

Don't compare the image sharpness with that of a Stereo Realist! And
don't expect exhibition quality prints with the Loreo -- it is strictly a
"fun camera" but has its limitations, which, with practice, you should
be able to overcome. As to the 3D effect -- no complaints there.
