cost of color



I can remember back to the 1950s: color negative film was only available
in roll film sizes: 828, 127, 120, 620, etc. It was not available in 35 mm
loads. One reason was probably the expense. I used to shoot Kodacolor in
120/620 size. Film was $1.00 per roll; processing $1.00; prints were $0.32
each. That came to $5.84 for 12 exposures, or $0.49 per photo. A *lot* of
money in those days.

Kodachrome cost around $3.25 for a 20-exp. roll, including processing and
mounting.  About $0.16 per photo. Does anyone recall the price of
Kodachrome 335 (20 exp. Realist format, incl. *excellent* stereo cardboard
mounting)?
