Process quickly or...

I would like to share this experience I had with one roll that stayed in my
Realist for too long. Too long for me means just a few months. I am sure
there are people who leave rolls for an entire year in the camera and they
should see this problem more pronounced.

When I got back this roll that was in the camera from Easter until after
the NSA convention, I noticed that most of the pictures in the beginning
were grainy and some have colors shifted. I have never seen such poor
quality in the Fuji Sensia 100 that I was using. Pictures at the end of
the roll were much better.

Greg Erker long time ago asked about grain. He told us that he was
shooting 2-3 rolls a year (back then). If you don't process the rolls soon
after it is exposed, grain will build up. Refrigeration is one solution
when you cannot process the exposed roll quickly but this is not an option
when the film is still in the camera.

Moral of the story: Shoot more often, take more pictures!
