Dan, 

You are not negating View-Master here as a larger image is more
impressive, it's a fact of life. Even View-Master lovers like us have to
concede this fact. 2 1/4 format slides knock the socks off of Realist
and European format. So in 3-D larger is better to a point. 

Although View-Master was never intended to be a toy by the inventer,
William Gruber, Sawyers started making Fairy Tale reels in the mid 40's
because they saw the large potential market. In business you go where
the $$$ are.
