Back in the 1950s a well-known (in some circles) west-coast "physique
photographer" named Bruce Bellas (Bruce of Los Angeles) distributed a huge
selection of Realist-format male nudes. (Actually they were "nudes with
G-strings," since full male nudity was highly illegal at the time.) Bruce had a
rather formal style (he's the one responsible for the cliche of guys in
pseudo-classical poses with bow-and-arrow or beach ball). He never really used
the depth -- he just re-created his standard pictures with a stereo camera.
Nevertheless, he was quite prolific for a period of years in the mid-50s. Those
