My "glitzy" cutter is a Hamma with lights (two bulbs I recall) and magnifier.
Not bought from Reel 3-D though. A camera swapfest purchase.
The magnifier helps those of us without sharp precise eagle-like eyes. When
positioning the film before cutting, the magnifier makes this easier to do
and/or with less eyestrain. If using the "align to scratch" method the
scratch and the image are both much larger.
The magnifier covers a large area and takes no hands to hold, so it's
quite "tidy" as well.
How much it's worth if buying "new" is, of course, another question. :-)

P.S. - Some of my comments about cutters thus far also assumed certain things
not mentioned explicitly (needed to make sense). Hopefully they
weren't too hard to figure out. Just occured to me now.... :-)
