I am truly happy with natural light backlit viewers.
I've been through this before with regular slides. I went from using a
projector back to using my cheap viewer. It's the whole adventure of
using the most basic, to view my slides. What is it that everyone gets
out of using the fancy stuff? Okay, so maybe my deep relationship with
cheap viewers comes from my love for the VM viewer. There's just
something about natural light cheap viewers with diffrusers that makes my
work worthwile. So to everybody who thinks I'm going to change my tune
down the road, sorry... I've been there once with 35mm slides, spent a
whole lot of money on screens, projectors, etc. ( I thought the damned
things made my transparencies look horrible.)  just to find that I was
truly happy with my $5.95 diffuser. I like to just have those, you can
take a box of slides with you to the park and view them, relax, have a
little lunch.
