Its made in UK. I was given it by a friend because it didn't work. Shutter
wasn't firing. Took off the base plate and found that the little rheostat
was shorting out against the body. I moved it slightly, retightened the
screw and it seems to work fine now. Haven't tried it yet though.
By the way, having an other half interested in 3-D photo means you don't have
to do as much explaining, why you need more than just one Realist, or that a
Viewmaster camera and cutter would be cool to have.
Questions:
At an antique store I recently saw a Keystone stereoscope and a bunch of
cards in a gray box marked "eye and vision training course" (or something
like that) The cards were marked with numbers placed in stereo space at
various depths.
Are these rare? valuable?
I recently acquired a Kodak camera that appeared to be in excellent
condition. When I bought it I thought the shutter might be a little
slow/sticky and my first roll of film confirmed that. Any simple fixes,
things to look for? I don't mind sending it out to get 'tuned up'(I always
figure that into the price of any old camera I buy) but I'd rather do it
myself. I just don't know anything about this particular beast.
Thanks,
Steven D. Johnson
