dates for conventions?

I can't speak for the PSA, but for the Bellevue WA convention next year I was
told that the only weekend available with marginally reasonable hotel rates
was the July 4th weekend.  Room rates on other weekends were said to be
considerably higher, and it was felt that the members would really object to
>$100/night hotel rooms based upon a membership survey and complaints about
hotel room costs every year.

Thanks John, for the clarification.....I can understand the expense of hotel
rooms in major cities...thay are expensive....but I wonder if people will go
in the first place when the realise these dates are a) blackout for frequent
flyers, b) major holiday weekends  Still wondering...Jon
