On the other hand.... those of us who are on zillion-hour/week work schedules 
almost nominally, aren't "let out" too often, and having it during a holiday 
period increases the chance of being available to go, rather than trying to
get *another* period of being gone. 

There's *some* advantage!  Kinda sortof.  Maybe the schedulers are in
this category themselves?   :-)

I look at it this way, anyway.
