I have to disagree with Paul:

You can have a lot of depth with freeze-fracture replicas in the TEM. If
you ever have the opportunity to see some replicas, you will be very
impressed.

Yes you can some depth in thin sections. Normally we would tilt our
specimens up to about +10/-10 degrees on the stage. It depends on the
specimen. Experimenting with your specimens is the best way.

Yes SEM images are great. Would love to have one at home. Unfortunately my
family would end up fighting over it.
