No, actually the 3Discover most closely resembles Tru-Vue. It is a strip of film
with stereo pairs in some sort of intermittent configuration. The film is
contained in a plastic casing, and is controlled electronically so that whenever
you push the forward or reverse button, the film automatically advances
correctly to the next pair. I have not seen the Kodak system, but from the
description, it does sound as though it's just enough different from V-M to do
an end run around the V-M patents.
