Cool. I actually agree with Marvin. Good points. You see we really can get
along! But before I start wearing flowers in my hair, I'd like to share a
somewhat 3D related story.
A few years back I had a friend who was absolutely fanatical about stereo
photography. He had two Belps, Realists, an F40 and even a Nikonos rig. His
father was also a stereographer way back, and had passed his craft on to his
son. Unfortunately he was also an acute schizophrenic, an illness that
eventually caused him to take his own life.
In the all too brief time I knew him I learned an immense amount about 3D.
He helped me find equipment, contacts, and literature. But the best thing I
picked up from him was inspiration. Rather than the same old pretty
pictures, all properly composed, exposed and aligned, his slides represented
his own world. It was like looking in his stereo viewer and actually
crawling into his head, as every stereo view was unique, genuine and
original. My favorite was one Clifford would be proud of: A Pig's backside
in functioning mode !!!
I wish I knew what happened to those precious images, for if I knew I'd buy
them all as art.
The point is that creativity knows no bounds, and if you limit people's
views, you limit ideas. Even flaming can be creative, and Clifford's
not-so-private 3D enema posting should be written on a T-shirt !! You've all
heard his bad side, but may I add he sent me several warm thank you's to me
for answering some of his questions. Hey Guys he flamed me too !!!
P.S. How about bumping people for too much blandness instead ?
