This re-raises one of my original questions:
How can one tell, by looking at a list of available lamps, which one
will be (or appear) brighter.
As you say, they are both rated at 300W, but it has been my experience,
admittedly limited, that lumens are not listed for lamps with integral
reflectors.
(Interesting [to me] that the "newer" genration of projectors from the
"Carousel" family use 82V lamps. The stepped doen voltage is provided
by using a portion of the motor windings ad a transformer.)
