Progressive Jpegs

I enjoyed Shilo's pics especially the How to View Cross-Eyed pic.
I download the progressive jpegs and can view it with Netscape 3,
but in my other paint programs and viewers it comes up blank. Now
the question is, can the paint programs view them or do I need a
newer or other paint program?

P.S. It's Thanksgiving up here in Canada today. Most of us are off.
