...In the sense that poor resolution isn't required to get a 3D effect, and
the magnitude of the perceived depth doesn't depend on the (lack of)
resolution.  It will still determine the minimum depth difference that can
be detected.

John's dual-centroid model of SL3D predicts the amount of depth that should
be seen in any given stereo pair, right?  (as opposed to the minimum
detectable depth change; the scaling as opposed to the threshold).  Which
to the best of my knowledge Bill's equations don't address.  Which is why
the dual-viewpoint model _is_ applicable to SL3D.
