Hi George,
I had a Realist that was one of those bedeviled by a light leak like the
one you describe. I tried the back bending truck, and it helped some,
but it didn't stop it completely. I didn't have a case, so that wasn't
an option.
There are several suggestions in the 3D FAQ Realist section.
I tried applying black tape to the seams after loading and that worked
well in most cases, still, whenever I was outdoors for prolonged periods
the leak appeared, usually on the best pictures of the day.
I had an idea that finally stopped it. I went to a craft store and
bought a square of black felt (costs about a quarter). I cut thin
strips, just the length of the camera back opening and taped them on with
black tape. It worked perfectly.
It doesn't seem that arduous, but eventually I got tired of the
loading/taping ritual.

On a different subject I wanted to tell you that it was indeed fortunate
for me that you had no Realists or Kodaks when I asked you about buying
one. The day after you replied I stopped by a camera store that sells my
photo T- shirts to drop off some orders. I was almost out the door when
the owner's son called me back. He said he heard I had an interest in
"all that 3D stuff".
He said "some old guy" had dropped off a box and that they saved it for
me.
The box was a grab bag of junk, but there were viewers, tru-vue viewers,
lenses, cases, filters and etc..
As a result of this gift I now have a Revere Stereo with case, filters
and instructions. I'm looking forward to trying it this weekend.

By the way, I noticed some traffic about Realist T-shirts. If you ever
want one just ask (and send me your size).

Charlie H.
