Raelist light leaks
Our own Dr. T asks...>>I would like to ask if other people have any
experience with:
- the frequency of this problem
- sources of the leak
- ways to get rid of it
CAREFULLY bending the back works sometimes...but I read years ago, that you
could pull off the light seal from a 35mm film canister, and it fit nearly
exactly across the area on the back that usually leaks light. It's good to
realize that a Realist can leak light through (around) the les/shutter board.
The BEST solution is to ALWAYS keep the bottom half of the case on. This
eliminates the problem in 75% or more of the cameras.
>>Also, Realist dealers and resellers, do you consider the light leak a
valid reason for returning the camera?
My guarantee always states...we will repair or replace defective cameras,
etc. So, if you get one, you should notify the seller, asking if anything
EASY can be done, then return the camera if a problem persists. Any
knowledgeable dealer can fix almost any problem that crops up on a Realist;
others can replace it from their stock!
>>It should be discussed more often or someone (Dr.
T perhaps? ;)) should write something definite about the nature and
frequency of the problem and all the possible solutions!
Will you post your "writings" on the FREE photo-3D board for all to read???
Harry
