New owner needs help

I've just bought a realist from Dr. T.
and I have a few questions.

how do you use the rangefinder, I have a theory after playing with it
that it has something to do with getting images in the top window to
line up with things in the bottom window.

and... where do you get those slide mounts [in australia preferably]
I read where Kodak will mount them for you on request, if this is true
then I'm in luck since Victoria [where I live] has one of the worlds
biggest Kodak processing plants.
