This allows me to say what I forgot to say on the subject when I got 
carried away with history on 35mm format. What I wanted to say
was that McKay's viewpoint was: (as rememberd)
 "  Stereo is NOT planar photography, and the shape of the WINDOW you 
view a life size real appearing scene, has less effect that the square 
or rectangle one uses for a picture. When you look out a window you 
are rarely aware of the shape of the window."

 Not to say, that big vista windows are called "picture windows" to ruin my argument.
This touches on the discussion of lenses for med format stereo that 
if too short (good?) did away with the window by filling the mind 
with a frameless window, but a sensation of not seeing all the 
picture area. (I think this might be the ideal?)  BobH
