I LIKE THE STEREO WINDOW !!!
>When it comes to viewing 3D images, I always prefer the wider format

Since we are stating preferences here, please count me as one of those
(old fashion guys?) who think that the "window" adds to the stereo
presentation. It takes some guts to make this statement today when
everyone is talking about wide images, realistic presentations, wide-
angle cameras and viewers, IMAX, etc.
I LIKE THE STEREO WINDOW!
It adds to the stereo presentation. It helps concentrate my attention
to the subject. It is a compositional element. You can have your
subject interact with it. You can always get rid of the window by
placing it at infinity. That's what stereoview makers did on a regular
basis. They did not realize the value of the correct window. It
took the slide film viewed in a viewer or projected in a screen for
the public to recognize the value of the window. People copy old
cards in slide film just so they can "fix" the window. The stereo
window, properly placed in the scene, adds to the stereo presentation.
!!! PLEASE, DO NOT TAKE MY WINDOW AWAY !!!
Will all due respect... -- George W. Themelis
