Revere 33 info

Having lurked and enjoyed reading this board for quite some time now I am finally
motivated to post something myself. I recently acquired a Revere 33 in what appeared to
be mint condition. Just picked up my first roll of film and see that it advances 2
frames per picture- in other words, 2 blank unexposed frames between exposures. Upon
closer exam of the camera I see that, sure enough, the frame counter does indicate that
2 frames are advanced before the wind knob locks and the shutter is cocked.
So the question is... is this a common problem on the Revere? Any suggestions about
repair.. I would like to tackle this myself but is this not a good first project? If
not a good do-it-yourself project, any suggestion about a "Revere specialist"? To make
matters worse, it appears that the set screws in the wind and rewind knobs have been
stripped making access to the top plate more of a chore. I assume I would have to drill
them out, tap, and replace with a larger diameter.
Any and all info would be appreciated either by post to the group or E-mail. And thank
you Dr. George for all of the good information and supplies you have provided me.
Dr. Mike
