Rhino Nuoptix snake oil

Allan Woods wrote " Latest Rhino catalogue includes an ad for Time Life's

 Nature photography of animals.
Includes apparently simulated "Binoculars" which are touted as:
"Nuoptix (tm) 3-D binoculars that enhance the shockingly real segments ."

Now what kind of snake oil do we have here anybody know?

I still have a photocopy from what video July 1988 (UK) where in reply to
a reader who seemed to have discovered the Pulfrich effect for himself the
author on a couple of articles on 3D in previous issues of the magazine in
April and May. Replies that the the latest patent on Pulfrich is for the
Nuoptix system mentioned in What Video and their American page in May of
1988.
Presumably the binoculars are just topical packaging for the Pulfrich filter
I doubt that it is much good but maybe it is an improvement on Rhinos
anaglyph videos such as Cat Women of the Moon which was apparently
terrible. P.J.Homer
