Computer-enhanced 3d, what's in the future?

I guess I have not said my last word yet ;)

Since the list is slow today, I would like to comment on something that
Larry said:

There is a lot of truth and a good reason for concern behind this
statement. It is truth that the combination of camera images and
computer enhancement/manipulation is powerful. The concern is that
those who don't have computer access or computer skills will certainly
feel threatened by the new computer 3d generation. So, what is it going
to happen?

Right now, computer 3d images are accepted in 3d slide competitions, no
questions asked. I predict that as computer technology becomes even more
powerful, as a result of pressure from oldtimers (who are still pulling
the strings in the 3D competition arena and who, I assume, are left behind
in the computer revolution) we will see a division where computer
manipulated images will not be allowed to compete directly with camera and
film images. Each one will have it's own area and rules.

Does this sound reasonable? Fair? Any comments? -- George Themelis
