I am too! I was skeptical until I saw a stunning image of Merilyn Monroe
(sp?) My first reaction to this classic image was "I did not know that
this picture was shot in 3d". Well, it was not!
There is nothing in the picture that suggests that the picture was not shot
in 3d. Nothing that I can detect. I don't know anything about the time
and work it took to convert this from 2d to 3d. But I do know that it will
be much easier to do in the future. If it is done today then it will be
done more often and more succesfully in the future.
Questions about the quality of the conversions and computer work? It is
all a matter of how they are viewed. In a computer, projection or printed
form we are there.
What happened to Ted Papoulas, the master of 3D conversions?
This fellow had done and is still doing remarakable work in this area. His
work for ABC (was it ABC?) was admired and discussed in this list recently.
